Features and Benefits

Formulation: Inactivated yeast, yeast hulls, and microcrystalline cellulose.

Enological benefits:

Actibiol® releases growth and survival factors into the must and helps to bind inhibitory compounds. The growth factors (vitamins, amino acids, peptides, etc.) are essential for yeast multiplication. The survival factors (long chain fatty acids, sterols, etc.) help to maintain the yeasts’ viability and ensure their fermentary metabolism until the end of the alcoholic fermentation.

Yeast hulls bind pesticide residues and inhibitory compounds such as medium chain fatty acids (C8, C10) that are produced by yeast when they are under stress. By blocking these compounds that are harmful to the yeast, the end of the alcoholic fermentation is secured.

For stuck fermentations, Actibiol® efficiently detoxifies the medium and provides nutrients to the yeasts used for restarting the alcoholic fermentation.

Product Applications

Dissolve Actibiol® slowly in 20 times its weight in water while continually stirring to avoid lumps. Incorporate it into the tank and homogenize with a pump-over.

Preventive Treatment: Add Actibiol® with a pump-over as soon as possible, preferably at the beginning of alcoholic fermentation. It is recommended to combine Actibiol® with Vitaferment® (depending on the level of assimilable nitrogen in the must) and with Granucel (depending on the turbidity).

Curative Treatment: Add Actibiol® with a pump-over immediately after sulphiting at 2 g/hL (to avoid bacteria growth) and before starting the fermentation restart protocol (ask your supplier for the specific protocol).

Dosage:

  • Preventive Treatment: 20 to 40 g/hL
  • Curative Treatment: 40 to 60 g/hL
