Role Overview

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of engineering projects from award through to commissioning and final handover. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical and quality standards, while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying commercial growth opportunities. The Project Manager acts as the primary point of contact for the client and coordinates internal engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and service teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management & Delivery
  • Manage full project lifecycle: kick-off, design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and milestones.
  • Monitor progress against scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
2. Client Management & Communication
  • Lead weekly client meetings and provide structured progress updates.
  • Conduct and facilitate site kick-off meetings.
  • Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with all stakeholders.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for client coordination.
3. Documentation & Technical Coordination
  • Maintain systematic RFI registers and clarification sheets.
  • Manage and track design queries, approvals, and revisions.
  • Prepare and administer variation submissions, including technical justification and commercial impact.
  • Ensure scope clarity and alignment with contractual deliverables.
  • Coordinate review and approval of drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, and technical documentation.
4. Commercial & Scope Growth
  • Identify scope gaps and opportunities for upgrades or variations.
  • Work closely with engineering and sales teams to pursue technical enhancements.
  • Drive value-added proposals aligned with client requirements.
  • Maintain strong commercial awareness of project margins and cost impacts.
5. Testing, FAT & Commissioning
  • Plan and facilitate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), including mechanical and electrical verification.
  • Coordinate Software FAT for PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Lead Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with client stakeholders.
  • Ensure all punch list items are closed prior to handover.
  • Compile and deliver complete handover packs (as-built drawings, manuals, certificates, ITPs, test reports).
6. Commissioning & Post-Commissioning Support
  • Support commissioning activities to ensure system performance meets design intent.
  • Oversee final system validation and operational readiness.
  • Ensure smooth transition of the project to Service and Consumables divisions.
  • Maintain client engagement during defect liability period.
7. Internal Leadership & Coordination
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, controls, and procurement.
  • Provide direction to site supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional communication.
  • Foster accountability and ownership within the project team.

  • Minimise variation disputes through clear documentation.
