Lamothe-Abiet is a brand Australian winemakers might not be familiar with, unless they have worked a vintage in Europe, New Zealand, or perhaps South America. It is France’s oldest oenological supplies company, operating since 1878. Lamothe-Abiet works closely with the University of Bordeaux and other research facilities, and is the dominant brand in Bordeaux. Their product range is now available for the first time in Australia through Blue H2O Filtration.
The Lamothe-Abiet range is being brought in to complement our popular SIHA winemaking products, which are now in stock for Vintage 2017.
The LA range includes a collection of isolated yeast strains, including those selected through a breeding program at the University of Bordeaux. Strains are selected for fermentation kinetics, alcohol tolerance, varietal expression, and texture delivery. They also produce nutrients, bacteria, tannins, fining and stabilisation agents and oak products.
